Eloise Southby guest speaker at Western Region Business Club

The latest Western Region Business Club featured Australian netballing icon, Eloise Southby as guest speaker.

Daughter of former Carlton football great, Geoff Southby, Eloise kept us entertained as she spoke about her path into netball,  her goal to one day be part of the Austrlalian team and where her career has led her and how she applied the lessons she learnt to succeed.

Eloise has excelled both on and off the court, representing Australia in netball and winning a gold medal at the 2002 Commonwealth games and silver at the 2003 World Netball Championships. She became an integral part of the Melbourne Phoenix netball team winning 5 premierships and being appointed co-captain. In 2004 Eloise was awarded the prestigious Sports Australia Medal and in 2006 she was inducted as a Legend of the Game by Netball Victoria.

Eloise has coached extensively at all levels and currently provides specialist support to netball clubs, The Victorian Institute of Sport, Netball Victoria & Tasmania and the Melbourne Vixens. She has also, amongst a long list of other achievements, co-authored a novel, been a specialist netball commentator with Foxtel, a netball writer in the media and still finds time to focus on her family.

Eloise was very insightful into the reasons for her success and succeeding in life: among them enjoying what you are doing, striving for your goals and learning from any setbacks.

We thank Eloise for taking time out of her busy schedule to attend the WRBC
